Hesters Way Neighbourhood Project is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee whose sole purpose is to help transform people's lives by providing local services to local people. A not-for profit organisation it provides a range of services to people living and working on the west side of Cheltenham in the neighbourhoods of Hesters Way, Fiddlers Green, St. Marks, St Peters, Rowanfield, Arle, Cavendish Park, Springfields, Arle Farm and Springbank, which makes up over 20% of the town's population.
Run by local people for local people, the organisation helps tackle social exclusion issues across local neighbourhoods, relieving poverty, ill health and disadvantage through advocacy, education, personal development, self help and active community projects The Project works progressively to involve and empower as many local residents as possible to improve the local area and quality of life. At its core, is a Team of 40 Volunteers who, in 2008/09, gave over £100,000 of benefit in kind working to local people and organisations. Our Volunteers are highly valued and are rightly proud to be part of the Hesters Way Neighourhood Project and to be part of the larger community of Cheltenham West, which is home to 20,000 residents.
Hesters Way Neighbourhood Project is based at Hesters Way Community Resource Centre in Cassin Drive, off Princess Elizabeth Way in Cheltenham, which it manages along with Springbank Community Resource Centre. Hesters Way Community Resource Centre has well equipped conference facilities and a choice of different sized meeting rooms, which are available for hire at excellent rates. A choice of conference menus and buffet options are available at reasonable prices. Springbank Community Resource Centre, in addition to meeting and interview rooms, has a large hall which is available for rent. The Neighbourhood Shop in Hesters Way Road offers a wide range of second hand goods at bargain prices.
Bus services in the area are made up of: Route A which runs GCHQ, Glos College - Town Centre, Route C Springbank Community Resource Centre, Fiddlers Green - Town Centre (circular), Route G - Cheltenham, Rowanfield, St Marks, Benhall, Glos College (circular), Route 94 GCHQ - Cheltenham - Gloucester.
